Rotterdam Arts and Sciences Lab (RASL)

In December 2015, the Erasmus University, Codarts Rotterdam and Willem de Kooning Academy decided to collaborate more intensively and joined forces in the Rotterdam Arts and Sciences Lab (RASL). The goal of the RASL collaboration is to advance the exchange of knowledge on education and research and to offer students the possibility to develop their skills in accordance with the changing artistic professional practices and societal issues. Minor Fashion Industry

In 2016 the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication set up the Minor Fashion Industry, comprising 15 ECTS the minor looked into the history of the fashion industry and the world behind the glamorous catwalks and shiny magazines. It aimed to analyse fashion from a business history perspective, to look for similarities and differences with other industries. (Guest) lecturers presented historical backgrounds, theories and insights from the world of fashion. Students discussed and presented literature and specific cases. In addition, students made a report on a fieldtrip to a fashion intermediary or a fashion company, or wrote a case study based on original sources. Learn more about the Minor Fashion Industry

Global Markets, Local Creativities: Two-Year International Master Programme

Starting 2017-2018, the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication will offer the Erasmus Mundus two-year International Master ‘Global Markets, Local Creativities’. The programme aims to examine how local places (clusters, cities and regions) and local actors (entrepreneurs, firms and policymakers) generate local competitiveness under global market conditions. This Master Programme is a collaboration with the Glasgow University (coordinator), the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, the Universitat de Barcelona and the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Learn more about this two-year international Master
